Construction of Major Agricultural Storage Facility in Blama Town

We have officially commenced construction of a large-scale agricultural storage facility in Blama Town, Small Bo Chiefdom, Kenema District, following a groundbreaking ceremony held at the project site.

The project involves the development of a modern warehouse with a storage capacity of 15,000 metric tons, equivalent to approximately 300,000 standard bags. Once completed, the facility will function as a central aggregation and storage hub, significantly reducing post-harvest losses and strengthening food security across the region.

Beyond storage, the facility is designed to operate as a multifunctional agricultural resource center. It will improve market access for local farmers in Kenema District while supporting increased agricultural productivity and trade. The project is also expected to stimulate related agri-business activities, creating broader economic opportunities within the surrounding communities.

Project Update: Agricultural Storage Facility – Blama Town, Kenema District

Construction activities are now underway at the Nanuel’s Investment agricultural storage facility site in Blama Town, Small Bo Chiefdom, Kenema District. Following the earlier groundbreaking ceremony, the project has entered its active development phase as work progresses toward establishing a modern storage infrastructure to support the region’s agricultural sector.

The facility, once completed, will consist of a modern warehouse with a capacity of approximately 15,000 metric tons, equivalent to about 300,000 standard bags of produce. The objective of this project is to create a reliable central aggregation and storage hub that will significantly reduce post-harvest losses while strengthening food security across the region.

Beyond its primary role as a storage facility, the project is being developed as a multifunctional agricultural resource center. When operational, the site will provide improved market access for farmers across Kenema District and neighboring communities. By offering structured aggregation and storage services, the facility is expected to support farmers in preserving crop quality, stabilizing supply chains, and improving their overall market participation.

The development is also anticipated to stimulate ancillary agri-business activities, including transportation, produce handling, packaging, and trade services.
